Cowboy Action Shooting

I was introduced to Cowboy Action Shooting in 2005 by a good friend ( now deceased) Cowboy Butch aka Butch Powell. Since that first shoot in Feb. 05 I've found that this is the most fun I've ever had while shooting. I shoot with the Watrace Regulators in Wartrace Tennessee. SASS, Single Action Shooting Society, is the governing body of this sport.

At a monthly match we typically shoot 5 Stages (courses of fire). At each stage we shoot 2 single action revolvers, a lever action, or pump action rifle, and a double barrel, lever action or pump action (1897 Winchester or clone only) shotgun.

All of our guns are of a design made prior to 1900.

July 4 '09 Match

49 shooters came and braved a hot 4th of July to compete in our main month shoot and help celebrate Blue Boy's 90th birthday.
Whiskey again had some good stages and I proved you can get a "P" even on a good stage.
The top 5 shooters were, Buck Dodgers, Will Reilly, Papa Dave, Iron Maiden and Duck River.
